Dave White x Jordan Brand – Air Jordan 1 Limited Edition

During his brief visit to New York City for mural project with AOL, artist Dave White briefly mentioned, off the record, about his upcoming project with Jordan Brand. In ways, this project was a culmination of all the work White done in the past. Since 2002, the classically trained artist have helped proliferate the believe that sneakers are no mere object of desire or simple accessories to your wardrobe. But rather an outlet of expression for one’s creativity. Be it a medium or a subject, our perceptions on sneakers have evolved in the last decade, largely thanks to folks like Dave White.

Evil Mad Science – The Originals Egg-Bot Kit | Easter Egg Art Bot

We here at Freshness love holiday traditions. However, some should have been left behind in the old country instead, like the art of decorating Easter Eggs. With our clumsy handling and oversized digits, we left a trail of cracked egg shells and shattered self esteems each April around Easter. This is about to change soon with the help of The Original Egg-Bot Kit. Brilliantly conceived by the evil mad scientists at, where else, Evil Mad Science, the Originals Egg-Bot Kit is an open-source robot able to draw on any spherical shapes in the range of 1.25″ to 4.25″ in diameter, or roughly the size of a ping-pong ball to a small grapefruit according to the company. With some adjustments, the Eggbot can paint on other round objects, from lightbulbs, golf balls, wine glasses, to that other holiday traditions, Christmas ornaments. Based on the original design by Bruce Shaprio (The Art of Motion Control), EMS made each kit easy to assemble so you can enjoy designing process rather than cursing up a storm. Compatible with the Mac OS, Windows, or Linux, just plugin the bot to any USB port and download the operating software. Beside being “incredible edible”, eggs are now absurdly fun as well. via: NYTimes

Nike Air Mett 90 (Air “Meat” 90) | Video (not mine)

There’s been plenty of cakes, a few sandwiches, even an occasional pizza, but “mett”? Rejoice fellow foodies as sneaker-theme food art racked up another category in the form of chopped beef. In honoring Sneaker Freaker Germany‘s 2nd issue at Cologne’s The Good Will Out sneaker boutique, the publication along with Henning Huttner of butchery Beef Brothers shaped a gargantuan Nike Air Max 90 from a delectable assortments of minced meat (or mett in German), cheese, olives, onions and more… A gastronomical feat for the food art and a feast for sneaker aficionados.
